What is left after the federal credit

The 30% residential credit ended for installations completed after 31 December 2025. State, utility and local programmes were untouched by that, and in several states they are now the only thing shortening a payback. There are 445 of them tracked here.

Where this comes from

Programme data is from DSIRE, the Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency, maintained by the N.C. Clean Energy Technology Center, NC State University. It is the only comprehensive register of US energy incentive programmes, it is licensed CC BY-SA 4.0, and this site reproduces only the factual index of each programme. For the full description of any programme, and the eligibility rules that decide whether you actually qualify, go to DSIRE.

Snapshot taken 2026-09-16. Programmes open and close constantly, and a rebate that has exhausted its budget often stays listed. Check the programme’s own page before counting on it.
